When I lived in Australia, I worked as a masseur in bars and clubs (I swear!), and I got paid after the massage based on how much people thought it was worth. As funny as it may sound, I actually preferred this setup: some people tipped a lot, while others didn’t have much to spare or didn’t want to tip, but they all still got to have a massage. It felt…fair to me, and I liked giving.
This principle is what drew me to Royal Road, a free story sharing site where people can support the author if they like what they’ve read. This was right up my alley, and I’ve really enjoyed using the platform so far–so much so in fact I’ve decided to cross post my now free short stories here, too!
